Flooding Frustration

As the water rises and the urgency for volunteers increases, I find myself extremely frustrated that I can't help. The best I can do is stay at home with Alex while Paul goes out. I'm trying to save all of my errands for one day hoping that one less vehicle on the roads will make it easier for crews to get where they are needed. Our house should be ok. I am a little nervous about the retention pond and ditches that surround us. Paul doesn't seem to think they will be a problem.

I will say I was a bit disappointed to see our situation used as platform for global warming. However, that is another issue.

After two days of rain, we are now looking at the possibility of measurable snow! Mother Nature is quite unpredictable.

I feel the frustration of being "stuck" at home, too! I keep telling myself that taking care of the little critters is a valuable thing to do in a flood situation, but I feel rather terrible being an able-body that isn't sandbagging! I've been doing all sorts of laundry and packing evacuation bags, just in case, and mainly to have something that makes me feel valuable! :)

No kidding, I feel the same way! So hard to see everyone else working!
AND I blasted Obama for that comment too. Argh... (That's the clean version)
